Determinism of some phytohormones and potassium nitrate on the vegetative growth of Tangelo (Citrus x tangelo) in the Sudano-Sahelian area of Mali

In Mali, citrus fruits contribute significantly to the nutritional balance of population due their high content vitamin C, carotenoids and polyphenols. The sector in Mali is rich several species, but current trend production towards Tangelo (or Citrus×tangelo). objective this study was determine effects phytohormones 2,4,5-T, AG3 potassium nitrate (KNO3) on vegetative growth Tangelo. trial conducted Koulikoro district, especially experimental plot IPR/IFRA Katibougou. plant material used orlando with white pulp. design a Fisher block three replications. products water (check) were applied by spraying leaves young plants at 110 days after planting. Observations made following parameters: graft diameter, length number branches 90th, 180th 270th application. results analysis variance different treatments revealed significant (p<1% p<5%) non-significant differences. phytohormone 2,4,5-T followed AG3, showed best height, diameter all measurement periods. Weak very weak KNO3, found studied parameters. application plant’s seedling stage improved which may result early flowering could improve yield fruit quality Sudano-Sahelian area Mali.
